Blabble is a new social networking site focused on a younger audience. Our responsibilities included creating a fun name, researching and purchasing a URL, designing a logo and icon, and setting the overall tone for the brand. “Fun Conversation” was our inspiration for the name and logo theme. We also called on that theme when we developed a simple icon that could be used throughout the site where a full logo felt like overkill. In addition to logo and brand development, Crossgrain has been asked to build the entire social network app. We‘ve been hard at work developing the list of features, choosing the technology (we went with Ruby on Rails), managing the programming team and designing the overall look. With the redesign of this website, we focused on striking a balance—providing a stronger corporate feel without smothering the playfulness of the Spam Soap brand. Further, the client wanted an easy way to manage updates themselves with their news pages, client testimonials and service status reports. In response, Crossgrain created a new interface design, supported the design with complete copywriting and programming, and provided a comprehensive content management system that allows content to be updated easily anywhere on the site. Genesis Capital Website

Taking charge of everything from strategy consulting to site design to programming, we set to work simplifying their overall message. We designed and built a new section to recruit staff (an ongoing challenge). And we shared the latest photos of their offices in Irvine. Along with copy that communicates their industry experience, these photos set Genesis Capital apart as a real business, not just “two guys working out of a garage.” That’s important in an industry where small fish build themselves up online to look like bigger fish.
